Visa for India?
Participants need a 6 month multiple entry tourist visa from the Indian embassy. Participants are responsible for all costs in obtaining a tourist visa. The simple visa process can be accessed at https://indiavisa.travisaoutsourcing.com/

Immunizations??
Participants should visit the CDC website which can be accessed at http://www.cdc.gov and check the latest requirements for travel to India. Generally an updated Tetanus and Malaria shot is all that is required. Consulting your family physician before you depart on your trip is highly recommended.

Community Service hours??
Participants will have the choice to perform 10 hours of community service at a local NGO in Delhi or Dharamsala. Certificates will be mailed to participants once they are back in the US.

The Food and Lodging ??
The Northwood Program is the FIRST and ONLY group travel program which houses its participants in a 5 Star Hotel /Other Hotel in Delhi. Indian food can be sampled at your local Indian restaurant and consists of lentils, rice, curries, bread (naan, parantha,roti). India is a vegetarians paradise although non-vegetarian is widely served including the famous "Chicken Tikka Masala". We will offer vegetarian and non-vegetarian meal options to participants.

Laundry??
Participants are encouraged to carry with them the bare minimum of clothes, however laundry can be done and will cost around $15 a load in the city.

Contact??
Participants will have access to internet and phone, but are highly encouraged to enjoy and immerse themselves in the trip and refrain from using the internet and phone a lot. For parents "No news means good news". The trip face book page will be updated every couple of days so parents have latest information on the group.
